Autodesk Inventor 2011 Mesh Enabler is an Autodesk add-in that enables Autodesk Inventor 2011 to convert imported mesh data—such as STL or OBJ files—into usable solid or surface bodies. By turning mesh features into base features, it lets you bring 3D scan data or tessellated models into Inventor and work with them using standard tools.

Key capabilities:

  • Converts mesh features to solid bodies when the mesh is closed and manifold; otherwise produces surface bodies.
  • Integrates with Inventor’s workflow via a simple command to convert meshes to base features.
  • Enables downstream tasks such as measurement, sectioning, mass properties, and the addition of modeling features.
  • Supports common reverse-engineering and manufacturing workflows that start from tessellated data.

Typical uses:

  • Preparing STL/OBJ models for editing or documentation in Inventor.
  • Using scanned parts as a basis for design modifications or reference geometry.
  • Generating drawings and physical properties from mesh-based models.

Notes:

  • The result is a single base feature, not a fully parametric feature history.
  • Mesh quality (watertightness, resolution) affects conversion success and performance.
  • Designed for Autodesk Inventor 2011 with mesh features imported into part files.

Autodesk Inventor 2011 Mesh Enabler is developed by Autodesk. The most popular version of this product among our users is 1.0.
